Garage Equipment Developments at Rema Tip Top
Rema Tip Top UK is introducing several new developments in its range of tyre changing and wheel balancing machines. Hot on the heels of a completely revamped wheel balancing machine portfolio, Rema Tip Top has several new additions on the tyre changing scene. Notably these changes are specific to the traditional 800 series machines where previous models, including the Promont 800, 801, 819 and 819+, have now been superseded by four new pieces of equipment. This not only broadens the capability of the new models, but the buying/selection process is less complex, and everyone will benefit from the new performance features and engineering packed into the new Promont 815, 820, 822 and 826.
All machines correspond with the latest developments and mainly concern the tyre dealer shops. The PROMONT 822 is an automatic tyre changer for the most demanding tyre shops, complemented with the PLUS equipment ideal for runflat and ultra low profile tyres. The machine has an external clamping of 22″.
The PROMONT 826 represents a completely new concept. Here, only the tool support arm and not the column is tilting back. This system provides a space-saving version of tyre changers up to 26″, which in this configuration is unique on the market. That means the machine requires almost as much space as our new generation of wheel balancers. The addition of the Plus-kit will also provide a flexible and traditional alternative to higher end performance tyre changing machines.
The Promont range has also gained the addition of a new Truck tyre changing machine that has the capability of operating within the confines of commercial – and mobile service vehicles. The Promont 926 has a tyre mounting range between 12″ to 26″ and has the flexibility of the sliding carriage which is excellent for super-single tyres. There is a double mounting head for tubeless tyres and a rotary keyboard/remote control console especially designed for operating in tight spaces.
The launch of the new Promont models will take place in the New Year.
Wheel balancing developments
A recent development on the wheel balancing front has seen the introduction of the new balancing software, OPTI Weight, designed by Rema Tip Top. OPTI Weight helps dealers to save up to 20 per cent of their expenditure on wheel weights, on average per day. Used in conjunction with a digital display panel it does this by calculating the optimum correction method based on position and size of the imbalance and the weight of the wheel. Saving balance weights results from a rise in the tolerances (automotive industry standard). The OPTI Weight system also promotes greater time savings during the tyre changing process through pneumatic wheel clamping and automatic measuring and calculation at every stage of the process.
OPTI Weight is standard on new versions of the Probalance 7510-7520, but can be easily retrofitted to early models within this series.
