Encouraging Start for Dunlop Academy Winner
Dunlop Race Academy 2006 winner, Rob Parkman put in an inspiring performance during the Ginetta Championship final at Donington in an October weekend meeting. Despite the driving rain, Rob put his academy training to the test and finished 19th in the second race after qualifying 31st out of 38 entrants on the grid in a race-prepared Ginetta G20.
James Bailey of Dunlop stated: “Rob’s on-track performance was very impressive in the most difficult conditions imaginable. Many more experienced drivers spun out of the race in the torrential rain, but Rob’s drive was faultless.”
Rob from Somerset was chosen as the Race Academy 2006 winner from over 5000 entrants. During a series of heats, he had to undergo a number of driving assessments, media interviews and fitness tests before being crowned the champion.
