Credential and EMR Sign £400,000 Tyre Deal
Newton Aycliffe-based Credential Environmental and European Metal Recycling Ltd have signed an exclusive agreement for the processing of scrap tyres, in line with this summer’s start of the landfill tyre ban. Under the 12-month contract, car tyres on and off rim will be transferred from EMR sites to Credential Environmental tyre processing centres. An extension clause is included in the agreement, subject to approval by both parties.
Commenting on the contract, Credential’s national sales manager Bryan Packman said: “EMR is a global leader in recycled products and environmental services and we are delighted they have linked with us for the specialised processing of tyres. The agreement also has the added value of providing us with a recycling route back to the steel industry for the steel rims, through EMR.
It is a deal with a substantial value of some £400,000 with the added advantage of providing a recycling route for tyres for the significant EMR customer base.”
Graeme Carus, director of business development at EMR added: “We are very pleased to have struck this agreement with Credential. Their infrastructure closely fits our own and the flexibility to provide tyres on or off the rim allows us to focus our resources on our core activity.”
