ATS Euromaster Wins Nepo Approved Supplier Status
The North Eastern Purchasing Organisation (NEPO) has selected ATS Euromaster as one of two preferred suppliers of tyre services to local authorities participating in this contract stretching from the Scottish borders through to Tyneside, Wearside, County Durham and Teesside.
This marks the first occasion ATS Euromaster has been awarded preferred supplier status by NEPO in over 10 years and sees ATS Euromaster share the contract with Hi-Q Tyre Services. The contract runs until September 2008, with the option of a further two 12 month extensions.
“Renewing a public sector consortia contract is a complex procedure and we consult with all NEPO authorities to fully assess their requirements before inviting tenders to be submitted. These tenders are then evaluated against a strict scoring matrix based on what our members view to be most critical to the performance of the contract,” explains Andrea Tickner, head of corporate procurement, Gateshead Council.
“ATS Euromaster was awarded preferred supplier status based on its comprehensive branch coverage across the NEPO area, supported by an extensive fleet of mobile service vans which allows work to be carried out on-site and provide effective back-up when a vehicle suffers a tyre-related breakdown at the roadside,” she adds.
The company’s ability to meet NEPO’s demanding Environmental and Health & Safety requirements was also essential, together with offering economical rates for disposal of tyres in accordance with industry regulations.
The total annual spend for local authorities participating in the NEPO contract is approximately £1.5 million, covering cars and both light and heavy commercial vehicles.
ATS Euromaster is initially the lead supplier of tyre services to five local authorities, with its services currently being trialed by a further 10.
