Chemix Site Gets PAX Accreditation
Nobody would deny the safety and convenience benefits afforded by Michelin’s revolutionary PAX run-flat tyres, which allow motorists to travel safely for 125 miles (below 50 mph) on punctured tyres. More problematical, however, is finding someone who can fix the puncture, or replace the tyre. Good news then for PAX customers in the Midlands – Chemix in Halesowen has now received full Michelin accreditation for the supply and fit, including puncture repairs of PAX tyres.
Chemix says it is one of only a handful of depots in the Midlands area able to offer such a service. To obtain accreditation the company had to have two fitters trained and assessed by Michelin staff. Kevin Armstrong and Gavin Ralph are shown displaying their ‘PAX Certificates’ from Michelin.
Paul Hayes, Manager at the Halesowen Depot, says “Although the market is currently quite small, we believe that once customers see the benefit of these tyres, they will become increasingly popular. We are delighted to be able to extend our range of services to cover PAX”
Chemix will supply the service at its Halesowen site, although their mobile vans will be available to pick up and drop off loose wheels and tyres.
PAX tyres are being fitted to a wide range of vehicles as Original Equipment, including various models of Audi, Renault, Mercedes, BMW, Daimler, Mazda and Citroen.
