Bandag Expands Continuum Line for OTR Applications
(Akron/Tire Review) Bandag has “significantly expanded” its line of Continuum brand OTR retread materials. Launched in 2005, the Continuum line is expanded to include “innovative serpentine tread designs” intended for rigid dump trucks and industrial/container handling applications. Bandag said the Continuum serpentine tread designs offer greater flexibility than other retread application methods and products.
“The global shortage for new tyres has created opportunities to meet customer demand previously not served by our product line,” says Mike Poirier, Bandag’s North American sales manager for Continuum brand OTR retread materials. “We’re offering a number of additional tread designs based on the needs of OTR fleet customers here in the United States, as well as Europe and South America.”
Some of the added tread designs include: C1031 for use on straddle carriers in port facilities, which features continuous ribs and deep groves and is available in tire size 16; C1041, for use in industrial/container handling applications, and is available in tire size 18; and C1071, for rigid dump trucks, available in tyre size 2700.
