ATS Euromaster Wins Three-Year Contract with Fraikin
ATS Euromaster has secured one of the largest tyre supply and management contracts awarded in 2006 after winning a three year deal with Fraikin. The contract includes the majority of the 14,000 vehicles under Fraikin’s management, ranging from small vans and rigids to 44 tonne tractor units and trailers. ATS Euromaster secured the contract – estimated to be worth approximately £3 million a year – after carrying out a complete review of Fraikin’s requirements.
George Noble, purchasing and technical director at Fraikin, explains: “We awarded the contract to ATS Euromaster as they put forward a balanced and commercially viable proposal which delivered on the items we deemed to be of most importance. ATS Euromaster’s extensive branch network and fleet of 1,200 service vehicles means it is regarded as the fundamental tyre services provider to the commercial vehicle industry.”
Tyre supply to Fraikin’s fleet had previously been split between ATS Euromaster and Goodyear Dunlop, with ATS Euromaster being a supplier to Fraikin for over three years and Goodyear Dunlop responsible for the vehicles transferred to Fraikin in December 2005, when it acquired Lex Transfleet’s Commercial Fleet Division.
The deal will see ATS Euromaster supply new Pirelli tyres and Bandvulc remoulds for trucks across the fleet, with Avon tyres fitted to cars, vans and other light commercials. Throughout the three-year contract ATS Euromaster will carry out extensive testing to ensure the tyres provided continue to deliver maximum value. ATS Euromaster will also carry out regular inspections which will include tyre pressure, tread depth and alignment checks.
