Stapleton’s Moves Forward in Wholesale Market
It’s been a busy year for STS Stapleton’s as the company overhauled its wholesale business but the fact remains that it is one of the largest wholesale distributors of passenger car tyres in the UK. Through its six distribution centres in Letchworth, Wakefield, Coatbridge, Bristol, Burton and Warrington, Stapleton’s carries a large and diverse stock of tyres.
Chief executive Kenji Murai described the intentions behind recent developments at Stapleton’s: “Everything we do is with our customers in mind and this goes for the whole business including internal communication channels, delivery targets and stock control. As a result we have improved our relationship with our customers over the past twelve months.”
Despite the appointment of new marketing an wholesale managers in the early part of this year, Murai explains that Stapleton’s now has “the lowest staff turnover levels the company has seen in years.” He continues: “Our sales force is encouraged to be knowledgeable about the products and the market and to develop their relationships with customers. We understand the market a lot more now and can offer what our customers want in terms of products and services.”
Steve Parker, Stapleton’s UK wholesale director, explains some of the changes: “At an operational level the changes have included introducing a field sales team dedicated to managing wholesale customer relationships and seven field sales managers covering the whole country. We have also refocused our telesales operation creating regional teams to better manage customer relationships to ensure a more efficient overall service.”
By reviewing the way in which products are ordered, stored and distributed, Stapleton’s has redefined the range of products it offers. All major brands are carried to ensure there is a tyre suitable for every retailer and in every price bracket.
Steve Parker, comments: “We aim to have one of the most comprehensive range of tyres in the wholesale sector whilst delivering an outstanding service. This is kept at the forefront of our minds as we move the company forward and look to the future.”
There wholesaler also plans to make its new Prestivo brand available to customers very shortly. Parker comments: “We have already received an exceptional level of interest in the new range and needless to say we are very excited about launching it. All will be revealed over the coming months.”
