Stamford Tyres Continues Global Expansion
(Akron/Tire Review) In line with its business plan focused on global distribution, Stamford Tyres Corp. of Singapore has recently expanded into China, India, South America and the US. In March, Stamford announced that its 50 per cent owned joint venture company, Tyre Pacific (HK) Ltd, has incorporated a 100 per cent owned subsidiary company, Orizz (Shanghai) Ltd in Shanghai, China.
On 6 July, the company created Distributors India Private Limited (Stamford Tyres India), which was incorporated for wholesaling, distributing and retailing tires and SSW wheels in India. Then, on 26 July Stamford Tyres incorporated a wholly owned subsidiary, Stamford Tyres do Brasil Participações Limitada (Stamford Tyres Brazil), in Brazil. Last but not least, the company has recently started work on a second distribution center as well as a corporate headquarters for its wholly owned subsidiary – Stamford Tires & Wheels Inc. – in Charlotte, N.C.
“We expect organic growth from our existing major brands and incremental sales from our proprietary brands through the manufacturing activities. Collectively, all these activities will contribute to a double-digit growth in our FY2006 revenue,” said Mr. Wee Kok Wah, president of Stamford Tyres Corp.
