New “Smart” Blades from Pincott
Pincott Europe Limited, have been developing a new “Smart” blade which unusually is not flat, but is produced in the form of a sine wave. This sinusoidal shape allows the blade to cut progressively across the face of the tyre and not in a straight line as all other blades do. This has the effect of breaking up the surface more evenly and cutting the rubber from the tyre in a much smoother fashion.
This new blade, also has a completely different tooth form which is shaped more like a diamond than a circle which allows the blade to utilise greater cutting depths and with longer blade life as there is more tooth depth on the blade to utilise for cutting.
As this new blade is manufactured in the form of a sine wave or an S shape, a ‘set’ has been put into the blade during manufacture. This adds tremendous strength to the blade body and the teeth. This set and tooth shape, allows the blade to produce a finer finish with less actual teeth on the blades. This in turn means less friction and less heat. If this heat is kept down to a minimum the blade life will always be longer.
Smart 1 blades are available for 5 segment 11 ½-inch hubs and SMART 2 blades for 9″4 segment hubs. The third size for 11 1/2″ hubs with 6 segments should be available soon.
Pincott Europe staff report that they have had some extremely good enquiries in recent months from potential distributors in some of the Eastern European countries and Greece, and add that they would be pleased to talk to potential distributors from Czechoslovakia, Poland, Ukraine, Slovenia and Bosnia.
