New Michelin XMCL For Small EMs and Telescopic Handlers
Michelin recently launched the XMCL, a tyre designed for compact construction machinery such as backhoes, compact loaders, and telescopic handlers used in farming applications.
According to the manufacturer, the XMCL offers two fundamental advantages over its predecessor (the XM27) it lasts up to 46 per cent longer, and its crown and sidewalls are up to 10 per cent more resistant to punctures. Among the features that make the new tyre tougher are deeper lugs, steel casing belts and protective sidewall ribs.
For farming applications, the Michelin XMCL’s new architecture offers very good stability and manoeuvrability which ensures safety and improves productivity. Excellent traction is provided thanks to an open centre tread pattern which has good self-cleaning properties and tyre life is increased due to its deep tread with a reinforced lug nose. For construction applications, benefits include an increase in load capacity of more than 50 per cent and precise handling in difficult operating conditions.
Replacing the XM27 and XM37, the new Michelin XMCL is currently available in four sizes — 460/70R24, 440/80R28, 340/80R18 and 480/80R26. Eight more new sizes are expected to be added to this range this month.
With these new tyres, Michelin say it is helping to reduce downtime and therefore increase productivity, making significant reductions in costs.
