New Matador Winter Tyres
Matador has added a new, high performance product to its winter tyre range – the MP59 Nordicca – a tyre designed for middle- and luxury-class European vehicles. The MP59 Nordicca has been designed with the emphasis on safety in the most demanding of conditions, without sacrificing driving performance or comfort. It has an asymmetric tread pattern and what Matador describes as “a new generation of dimensional sipes” to give increased traction on snow and ice. The tread blocks are designed for optimum transmission of braking forces in all conditions.
The design of the sidewall is innovative too, as it offers the customer information about the service life of the tyre, plus a reminder of the tyre’s position on the vehicle – a great help when fitting the tyres after having removed them for the summer season.
MP52 Nordicca Basic
Also new to the Matador winter tyre range is the MP52 Nordicca Basic, aimed at smaller and medium-sized passenger cars in Alpine and middle-European regions. Once again, the tyre features the new generation of sipes, plus there is a completely new tread compound, containing the highest-ever proportion of silica in a Matador tyre. The tread pattern is directional and special attention has been paid to traction on snowy and wet surfaces.
The pilot size of the MP52 Nordicca Basic is 185/60 R14 82T and further sizes will be ready for the 2007/2008 winter season, for 13″, 14″ and 15″ rim sizes.
