Kwik-Fit Offers Vehicle Servicing and MoTs to Fleets
Fleets can now get their company cars and light commercial vehicles serviced and MoT’d at Kwik-Fit centres. Around 230 of Kwik-Fit’s nationwide network of 670 centres are now equipped to undertake interim and full services on all-makes of vehicles and 250 centres will also be capable of undertaking MoTs by the end of 2006. Following the completion of a long-time retail pilot, Kwik-Fit is now extending its servicing and MoT capability to all fleets.
Currently Kwik-Fit centres undertakes around 11,000 MoTs and 6,000 vehicle services a week, but the company expects those numbers to increase significantly as fleets capitalise on the cost effectiveness and prompt availability of the fast-fit giant’s new developments.
Kwik-Fit Fleet sales director Nigel Davies said: “We are making both vehicle servicing and MoTs available to fleets due to corporate demand. Time is money and for that reason fleets want a fast and efficient service that is convenient for their company car and van drivers. Our seven-day-a-week opening and our ability to offer an MoT and service within typically four days of booking rather than the 14 days of most franchised dealers makes our expansion into this sector very attractive to fleet operators and drivers.”
Kwik-Fit’s launch of an MoT and vehicle service offering marks the company’s latest move into extending its range of mechanical services. Already offering battery and exhaust replacement and repair work in addition to its core tyre services, the UK and Europe’s largest independent fast-fit company launched into the brake sector in 2004.
Mr Davies said: ‘Kwik-Fit Fleet has established itself as the number one fast-fit provider to the UK fleet market over many years through a combination of innovation, competitive pricing and high-quality customer service. “We are now bringing all those elements to an additional area of the marketplace and believe we will capture a significant amount of servicing and MoT work.
“We are witnessing an increasing use of independent garages for vehicle servicing and MoT work by fleets and believe that our record in the corporate marketplace underlines our credentials and gives us the capability of winning a major slice of this market segment.”
In the future more Kwik-Fit centres will offer MoT and servicing. To ensure technicians are fully equipped to undertake both MoT and vehicle servicing work on highly sophisticated vehicles, the company has expanded its training centre programme to provide comprehensive courses for newly recruited mechanics.
Mr Davies said: “Kwik-Fit is now a complete one-stop shop for fleets with cars and vans. Vehicle servicing has always been a target market for the company and the decision to offer MoTs is due to fleet replacement cycles being extended well beyond the historic norm of three-years due to improving vehicle quality.”
