Kwik-Fit Introduces Aircon Recharge Service

Kwik-Fit has announced the launch a brand new vehicle air conditioning recharge service across 100 centres in Greater London and the South East. Recent research from Kwik-Fit has found that almost 900,000 motorists from Greater London drive a car with a neglected and depleted air con, which can lead to trouble, as more than 630,000 motorists from Greater London admit they’ve lost their temper because of the heat.

Kwik-Fit also said that a further 147,000 Greater London motorists may well be mistaken by thinking that air conditioning units are recharged as part of an interim service on their vehicle. While many car manufacturers recommend recharging air cons every two years the majority of them regard it as an additional service – some even charge up to £150 each time.

Kwik-Fit hopes that its new drive-in, no appointment service (which costs £44.95) will improve the situation. The company even pledges that if it can’t improve the performance of a motorists’ serviceable air con system they will be entitled to a full refund.
David White, Kwik-Fit’s customer services director commented:

“Because we expect so much from modern cars it’s easy to overlook less visible things – such as the air conditioning unit. Indeed our research shows just how many people don’t even give it a second thought. Now with 100 Kwik-Fit centres in Greater London and the South East fully equipped to offer a ‘while u wait’ air con recharge service, motorists have an extremely convenient and cost effective option on their doorsteps.”
