Industrial Tyres From India
In recent years Indian tyre manufacturer Ceat (established in 1958) has shown consistent signs of growth, and the company’s wide range of industrial products is no exception to this trend. The Ceat industrial range includes tractor drive axles tyres R3 and R4, skid steer products, industrial forklift MPT fitments and container handling tyres. According to the company, Altura tyres feature high contact areas for low rolling resistance, brake plies to increase puncture resilience and high tensile strength bead wires for proper rim/tyre fitment. So whether your vehicles operate in a port or an urban warehouse, the Indian manufacturer says it has a product for you.
As far as industrial products are concerned, Ceat offers the widest size range on its Eleveta tube type industrial forklift tyre. Specially designed for heavy duty service on forklift trucks, material handling and mining equipment, the Eleveta features alternate continuous lugs with high contact area for maximum stability and load distribution. The tyre’s tough casing is said to provide excellent durability, while the compound provides greater resistance to tears and cuts, say company representatives. The Eleveta is available in 6.00-9, 6.90-9, 6.50-10, 7.00-12 and 8.25-15 fitments.
Ceat Ltd is one of India’s leading tyre manufacturers, which itself is owned by RPG Enterprises, a top-five business house in India with a group turnover of US$2 billion. the 2005/2006 financial year, the company had attained an annual turnover of $444 million. The company’s export business achieved sales of $93 million in the same period, almost 25 per cent of total turnover. Ceat runs five plants (three in Indian and two in Sri Lanka), directly employing 6000 people.
Across the manufacturer’s entire product segments (including passenger car, truck and bus and OTR tyres) Ceat boasts some impressive market share figures. “Our individual market shares include 64 per cent in Singapore; 22 per cent in UAE; and 22 per cent in Philippines. We also send our products to USA, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Vietnam, Iran, Nigeria, Egypt and other African, Middle-East and Far-East Asian countries,” says company promotional literature.
