Hankook Launches All Season LT/SUV Tyre

(Akron/Tire Review) Hankook Tire America Corp. has introduced the Hankook Ventus AS RH07, an all-season performance line intended for direct OE replacement and for plus-sizing light truck/SUV applications. Hankook said the new Ventus AS RH07 will initially be available in 14 sizes, covering 17- to 22-inch wheel diameters.

Hankook said the RH07 was developed to maximize ride comfort and low road noise while delivering “high performance handling and all-season traction.” The tread pattern features six circumferential grooves for water dispersion, an open shoulder to evacuate water and slush, high-density sipes for added grip on wet or snowy surfaces, and tread compounds specially mixed for all-weather traction and long tread life.

The RH07’s construction features high tensile steel belts and nylon belt overlays for handling and durability, “rim protect bars” to “help prevent the sidewall from rolling over the rim flange” and protect against wheel damage, and sidewall rubber compounds formulated to prevent ozone aging and cracking, Hankook said.

“The main focus for this new tyre is the emerging demand from consumers who do not want to compromise ride and noise for all-season traction when replacing their OE tires on light trucks and SUVs,” says Bill Bainbridge, Hankook’s marketing director. “Our size range covers a large percentage of the direct OE size ranges, the most popular plus sizes and even more sizes to be introduced in the coming months.”
