Cam Systems Welcomes New Finance Manager
Cam Systems has recruited a new finance and operations manager to join the senior management team at its Gloucestershire head office. The new appointment is 39-year old Kieran Burroughs, who will replace long-serving financial director Richard Abolins, who has left the company to work closer to his home in Taunton.
Kieran will take on a wider brief than his predecessor, overseeing the company’s financial accounting and systems as well as other management and operational functions. Mike Allen, Cam Systems managing director, welcomed Kieran’s appointment while paying tribute to the contribution made by Richard Abolins.
“Kieran brings almost 20 years experience of working with Castrol/BP to his new post so I know that he will add new ideas and skills that will prove very valuable to the business as we continue to move forward. At the same time, we are sorry to see Richard Abolins leave the company. He has been a stalwart and valued member of the director group for more than six years and prior to that worked closely with me and other colleagues at Ebley Tyres for many years,” said Mike Allen.
During his career with Castrol / BP Kieran progressed through a number of finance roles while acquiring senior management experience in other areas including operations, project management, IT, customer relations and supply chain.
In 2003 he moved into leisure management with Ohana Leisure, helping to successfully launch and establish the company from a start-up position with full responsibility for finance, including implementing systems and financial reporting.
“Joining Cam is an important career move that provides me with the scope to utilise my broad financial and management skills in a direct and practical way,” commented Kieran. “Cam is well placed to build on its position as the leading software supplier to the tyre industry and I’m excited to be part of the management team charged with helping to develop that position still further“, he added.
