Treadsetters Kenya Opens third Bandag Retreading Shop
Leading tyre specialist Treadsetters Tyres Ltd. Kenya, which has been a Bandag Dealer for 15 years, has chosen Kisumu, Kenya as the location for its third Bandag retreading shop.
Described as a busy, lively port and road hub on Lake Victoria, Kisumu is Kenya’s third-largest city, after the capital Nairobi and the port of Mombasa on the Indian Ocean. Treadsetters Tyres chose the location because the town is a major centre on the transport corridor between the coast and Uganda.
The new workshop in Kisumu employs nine specialised Bandag retreaders and three fleet consultants. Every one of them has already enjoyed a successful career in the other Bandag Treadsetters outlets and attends regular updates in the company’s own Training Centre.
The new shop uses nothing but Bandag equipment, ensuring that all retreads meet strict Bandag quality requirements. The Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu operations all offer the full range of Bandag services and products to maximise savings on customer tyre budgets.
In addition to the production of Bandag retreads, each Treadsetters site also offers its customers the benefits of Bandag Fleet Programmes. These include fleet auditing (CIMS), tyre management and the constant search for LCPK, the Lowest Cost Per Kilometre. The company also offers full outsourcing through mileage contracts.
Treadsetters Tyres Ltd. is the largest tyre specialist in Kenya and one of the largest in the whole of Africa. The company employs 300 well-trained and highly skilled professionals, ensuring that Central and Eastern African markets benefit from tyre products and services that are tailored to their requirements.
The company has an overall offering that is unique in Africa, combining premium new tyres (Goodyear) with Bandag retreading. Treadsetters reports that it is constantly striving to reduce the tyre-related costs of its customers.
