NHTSA Looking Into Cooper Line
(Akron/Tire Review) NHTSA has launched a “preliminary evaluation” into a certain size of Cooper Tire & Rubber Co.’s Dominator Sport A/T tyre line produced between 2003 and 2005. According to NHTSA, the agency has received a number of consumer complaints about problems with the tyre in question.
According to a Cooper spokesman, the evaluation “represents a very small number of the approximately 40 million tyres we produce annually.” The company also said, “All tyre companies routinely submit data to NHTSA to comply with the TREAD Act’s early warning system. We do not believe that further evaluation of our data will result in an official NHTSA investigation.”
