Hi-Q Invests in Training Centres
Hi-Q has invested “heavily” in the re-development of its three national training centres. The training facilities in Slough, Leeds and Dudley provide on-going professional training to employees based throughout the UK. Facilities over the three sites include e-learning zones, ramp areas, functioning tyre changing facilities and a fully equipped mock up reception area.
Stuart Powell, Hi-Q training manager believes the re-development will enhance the current facilities and enable Hi-Q to develop sophisticated programmes of training aimed at meeting the increasingly complex needs of today’s motorists:
“Hi-Q provides a high level of service to motorists throughout the UK. However to maintain those standards it is important that we continue to provide an on-going programme of training to all our employees, whether this is on the latest developments in automotive technology or in customer care and service. Our dedicated training facilities offer the ideal environment in which to maintain these levels.”
The Slough training facility based in Chippenham has been completely re-vamped and is now in use as the Hi-Q Goodyear Dunlop Training suite. The site has an Internet e-learning zone and a breakout area as well as a dedicated training suite.
Refurbishment at the Leeds facility has established three e-learning stations along with a Hi-Q retail facility on the lower floor, with Goodyear Dunlop training rooms on the upper levels.
The Dudley training suite now provides a host of modern facilities including a Goodyear training suite, three Internet e-learning stations, the Hi Q TruckForce training room, an upper floor suite of training/meeting rooms and an office with 5 hot desks incorporating wireless connection.
The reception area at Dudley has also been redeveloped as a retail training room and dummy reception with video facilities to enable recording and play back. A service bay has been turned in to a training area with the ramp being used for autofitness as well as other practical training.
“As you can see this is a significant redevelopment programme which will enable Hi-Q to maintain its commitment to staff training,” said Chris Kisby, Hi-Q’s director of retail operations. “The fast fit industry is highly competitive and automotive technology is continually developing. It is essential therefore that Hi-Q continues to provide on-going training to all its employees in order to maintain the highest levels of customer care and service,” he concluded.
