Goodway Appoints New Management Team

Goodway Rubber Industries Sdn Bhd has named a new management team effective 1 June 2006, in line with its recent corporate reorganisation exercise. New managing director, Alison Wong (Wong Ping Kiong), will lead the renewed management team.

Wong (43) brings over 17 years of experience to her position. She joined Goodway in 1989 at the foundation of the company as an account executive, before becoming finance manager in 1996 and subsequently senior finance manager in 1999. Allison has also served in corporate affairs. Wong replaces Tai Bon Wee as managing director who is stepping down from the operational business, but will continue to oversee the company.

Executive director, Gan Huey Mian (38) will take over Wong’s previous role, having served in various positions throughout her Goodway career. Prior to her joining Goodway in 1999, she was sales manager at CMCM Perniagaan Sdn Bhd and also served in Berger Paints (M) Sdn Bhd.

Themed ‘Greater Growth, Right Talent,’ the “management revitalisation” company representatives report that the reorganisation is designed to aid the establishment of dynamic leadership at every company level, more aggressive sales and marketing and further developed human resources.
