Walsall Dealers Tread Carefully
technicians Dave Carrier and Chris Bunce have received certificates from Bridgestone UK technical training manager Phil Thirsk, having passed a health and safety course run by the tyre manufacturer.
The course is part of a training scheme endorsed by the Institute of the Motor Industry, and the two technicians, who work at First Stop dealership Lodge Tyres on Pleck Road, are now well on their way to achieving full accreditation.
Dave Carrier said: “The Bridgestone course was very useful. The safety of our staff has always been of paramount importance to us, and we believe it’s vital we keep up with current legislation changes, and implement the best working practices.”
Bridgestone UK’s Phil Thirsk said: “Health and safety is very important – especially in potentially dangerous working environments like tyre dealerships. Companies have a legal and moral responsibility to ensure their employees are fully trained and able to work in safe conditions, and we commend Lodge Tyres for leading by example and signing its staff up to this course.”
