This Month’s Star Prize

The TravelPilot Lucca is described as extremely user friendly and this model works straight out of the box. Touch-screen technology and a built-in GPS (Global Positioning System) receiver ensures that both operation and installation are child’s play.

Navigation software is pre-loaded onto the 512MB internal flash memory and includes coverage of the UK, Ireland and major roads of Europe. Special points of interest such as restaurants, hotels or petrol stations are also stored as well as permanent speed limits on major roads. There is an integrated SD card slot so that dedicated navigation software for other European countries can be utilised.

Thanks to a sleek design, the Lucca stands out from the crowd and is designed to complement any vehicle. It comes with a 3.5 inch, full colour screen, which benefits from a clearly presented menu. Route guidance is provided via clear spoken instructions and a 2D or 3D map display. Destinations can be entered via postcode and street name and instructions can be given directly to the house number.

This model can also be used in pedestrian mode, allowing the user to get to their destination on foot. And lets not forget the extra features: Zoom – zoom in and out of the map by sliding your finger diagonally across the screen; and Pan – move the map by touching the screen in the desired direction of travel.

Touch the town (street or point of interest) – touch a town, street or point of interest such as an ATM or petrol station and save the location or navigate there straight away.
