New Tyre Shredding Machinery
With the ban on land filling tyres currently taking effect, F V Evans (New Zealand) and their UK agent Ecosystem Ltd have chosen to introduce their Evashred range of tyre recycling equipment to the UK. Evashred are launching two machines on the UK market, the EV60 with 600mm cutting width for shredding car tyres and the EV110 with 1100mm wide cutting width for shredding truck tyres.
The machines are built with either diesel power pack or electric motors. Evashred offer them as static stand-alone electric versions or mobile built into a truck or container. The EV60 shreds a tyre about every 15 seconds to 16mm pieces producing up to 3000kg per hour.
The larger EV110 is available with 25, 50 or 75mm shred sizes and shreds 6000kgs of tyres per hour.
Shredding tyres complete with the metal beads wears down the blades of any shredder. Evashred’s unique blades are made from the highest quality steel and specially hardened for increased durability. The blades on either machine are designed for economical maintenance and can be easily changed in a day. When blades wear on the EV110, the cutters can be rearranged on the shafts to put clean edges to the outside. This means that Evashred blades run for twice as long as many of their competitors and save the user money.
Brivini planetary gearboxes and CMG electric motors drive the blades of the electric versions of the machines, the best equipment available. Many of the older design shredders available today work with a motor and chain driving both shafts, which is less efficient. Also because there are no accessible moving parts on Evashred machines, there is no need for large casings on the equipment and so Evashred machines take up minimal space in recycling facilities.
Evashred is fitting a force feeder as standard on both machines, which pushes the tyres through the blades at the same time as the blades are pulling them through. This is said to eliminate bottlenecks, which occur on other tyre shredding equipment.
Evashred has also developed a tyre debeader, which tears the beads from tyres prior to shredding. Shredding debeaded tyres can double the life of the blades. Evashred with their trade partners Komei granulators can also offer all the down line equipment for tyre recycling.
