Matador Extends Casing Warranty to Include Second-life with Bandag

Slovakian tyre manufacturer Matador has decided to extend the warranty on its casings to a second tyre life when its products are retreaded by a Bandag Dealer in Slovakia, Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic. Matador now recommends Bandag for the second life of its casings.

The collaboration with Bandag dealers streamlines the truck-tyre division of the Púchov-based manufacturer. Matador and Bandag have been operating in the same Eastern European countries for many years, going to market with complementary products and skills. The extended casing warranty for Bandag retreading is a logical next step towards providing end-users with cost-effective tyre solutions.

According to the company, relying on Bandag retreads was a strategic decision. Matador officials report that the company has linked its recommendation to strict conditions designed to preserve quality standards beyond the first tyre life. Hence, the Matador casing warranty will only be extended to Bandag retreads that have gone through the Bandag NDI Casing Analyser and the Bandag 7400 Insight Shearographic Casing Analyser.

Only Bandag Dealers with an NDI or a Shearographic Casing Analyser in their retreading shop are entitled to extend the Matador casing warranty to their Bandag retreads.

From cradle to grave

Another aspect to the extension of the casing warranty is that the casings introduced for retreading at the Bandag dealership are managed by use of the on-line Bandag Camweb program (Casing Asset Management on the Web). The system’s online keeps data on the full service life of each tyre. That includes maintenance, repairs, retreading (selected Bandag tread and the date of return to the fleet) and the reasons for any casing rejection. Camweb produces reports and statistics that facilitate good decision-making in fleet tyre management.

To make its cradle-to-grave offering to fleet customers complete, Matador has subscribed to the Uptime 24 Breakdown Service Program of Eurofleet Tyres & Services. In addition, Matador’s points of service will be enrolled in the Eurofleet service partner network to provide tyre emergency services to the international fleet customers of the pan-European service partners associated with Eurofleet Tyres & Services.
