Conti Narrowing China Plant Search

(Akron/Tire Review) Continental AG will decide on a site for a new tyre plant in China by the end of 2006. Conti Chairman Manfred Wennemer said the company is considering two locations in China. “We are evaluating two sites right now,” Wennemer told the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung over the weekend. Wennemer also said Continental is looking for more acquisitions. “We can spend 3 billion euros. If an opportunity arises, we will take advantage of it,” he said without naming any specific target companies.
