NZ Green Party Slams “Misleading” Environmental Booklet
A New Zealand Government-produced booklet on the state of the country’s environment has been dismissed as “complacent pap” by a spokesman for the Green Party.
Nandor Tanczos said that some figures in the book – which cost NZ$ 125,000 (62,400 euros) to produce – were “misleading”, especially those referring to a tyre recycling scheme, where 1.3 million tyres were “disposed of or reused” in the past 18 months. According to Mr. Tanczos, 932,000 of these tyres went straight to landfill.
