Cooper to Unveil Run-Flat Technology at Essen

Cooper will be unveiling its new run-flat technology at the Essen show. The Cooper Zeon 2XS run-flat tyre is designed and manufactured to handle typical air loss situations, allowing motorists to drive on safely for up to 50 miles to their destination or suitable service station. Cooper Tire will be at stand 3-322, exhibiting products including Cooper, Avon and Mickey Thompson tyres.

Run-flat technology will also be extended to the Cooper Zeon XTC range. The Cooper Zeon 2XS run-flat will be available in Europe in 2007 with availability in the US when the replacement market demand requires a run-flat tyre. The Avon brand will also be featuring run-flat technology, which will be introduced in key sizes in its ZZ3, ZV3 and Ice Touring ST ranges.

In addition Cooper will introduce the latest Weathermaster and Lifeliner GLS. The Weathermaster Snow, available to fit most small to medium vehicles, benefits from a specially designed winter tread pattern and offers exceptional all round performance and enhanced braking in snowy conditions.

The Lifeliner GLS, which replaces the very popular Lifeliner Classic II, features four circumferential grooves designed to propel water out and away from the tread contact area. Completing the Cooper line-up are the new multifaceted Discoverer ATR and Discoverer STT 4×4 tyres.

New for winter 2006 are the Avon Ice Touring ST and Ranger Ice 4×4 tyres. The new Ice Touring ST offers exceptional traction and enhanced braking in snow, as well as resisting aquaplaning in the wet and is available in H and V speed ratings.

The Ranger Ice boasts an aggressive tread pattern that incorporates Avon’s patented ‘Snow Groove’ for superior traction in deep snow. Designed specially for SUVs, the Ranger Ice offers keen handling and roadholding and is available in T and H speed ratings.

Also on display are the ZZR trackday tyre, the well-established Ranger Sport, Ranger TSE and Ranger A-T lines, and a selection of Avon motorcycle tyres available, including the Venom custom bike tyres and the highly acclaimed Viper sports bike tyres.

Finally, Mastercraft will exhibit the Avenger LSR Sport and the new Strategy. The W-speed Avenger LSR Sport offers superb road handling, while T-speed Strategy is designed to offer improved wet traction, crisp handling and even wear.
