New Wheels from MAK

Italian manufacturer MAK has introduced two new alloy wheels. The first of these – the Veleno – is described by MAK as “our key wheel for 2006.” Veleno has 10 slender spokes and a sporty appearance, plus the open design means that almost the entire braking system of the car is visible behind the wheel, adding to the high performance image. The minimalist design is matched by the wheel’s lightness; an 18″ Veleno weighs only 10.7kg, compared with the more usual weight of nearly 14kg.

The Veleno is available in a Hyper Silver finish in six sizes, from 7×16″ up to 9×18″, and from spring this year the wheel has also been available in a new, Mirror finish. Here it is painted in an anthracite colour, apart from the spokes, which have a diamond finish. This particular colour scheme is for 7J16″, 7J17″, 8J17″ and 8J18″ sizes only.

SUV wheel

MAK’s second new wheel is the G-Five, aimed at the latest generation of SUVs. The design comprises five spokes with a central groove and looks elegant, while being sturdy enough to safely bear the weight of today’s powerful SUVs.

The finish is Hyper Silver, with a stainless steel lip on the outer rim and an aluminium centre cap; the G-five is available in three sizes for 18″, 20″ and 22″ wheels.
