ContiTech Expands Production Capacity in Romania

(Akron/Tire Review) The power transmission group of the ContiTech division of Continental AG has expanded drive-belt production capacity at its manufacturing plant in Timisoara, Romania.

The Romanian subsidiary, ContiTech Romania SBL., has begun operating a new 37,600-square foot production facility to increase capacity of automotive v-belts.

The plant, which supplies customers in Europe as well as OE and aftermarket companies in North America, now has a total of 75,000 square feet and will produce about 8.8 million belts a year.
