Tesco Non-Executive Chairman Joins Kwik-Fit
Kwik-Fit Group has announced that it has appointed David Reid as Chairman. Reid, who is the Chairman of Tesco PLC and a Non-Executive Director of Reed Elsevier Group plc, will take up this new appointment with immediate effect.
David (59) joined Tesco Plc as Finance Director in 1985. In 1996, David became Deputy Chairman assuming responsibility for Business Development, Strategic Planning and the International Operations in Central Europe, Asia and the Republic of Ireland. He was subsequently appointed Chairman of Tesco Plc in April 2004.
Before joining Tesco, David was also a Finance Director within the BAT Group and a Chief Accountant for electronics company Philips.
David Reid was born in Zambia of Scottish parents and was educated at Lathallan School in Aberdeen and Fettes College, Edinburgh. He is married with two daughters and lives in Essex. He is a qualified member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.
