Mythos Performs Well in 24 Hour Charity Race
Mythos, the new Ultra High Performance tread pattern from Marangoni, has once again proved its performance attributes in a recent 24hr charity race for Telethon in Adria, Italy, with a wealth of high profile celebrity drivers. Mounted on all 26 participating race cars, Mythos performed at a consistently high level, confirming its outstanding sports performance and reliability under the most demanding conditions.
Following a fantastic result at Nürburgring 24hr 2005 – where one competitor in a BMW 330cd drove for the entire 24 hours on one set of Mythos – the new tread pattern has cemented its position as one of the world’s most durable UHP tyres.
Currently, UHP tyres represent over 30% of the European replacement tyre market with this figure expected to increase strongly over the next few years. After identifying this market trend, the Marangoni R&D team decided to develop a second UHP tread pattern to fulfil demand from drivers of larger performance saloons.
The Zeta Linea UHP tread pattern, which has been extremely successful throughout Europe, is now focused on the tuning sector for vehicles with fitments from 15” – 17”, such as Vauxhall Corsa, Citroen Saxo and Honda Civic. For the larger executive brands like Mercedes and BMW, Mythos offers unrivalled comfort and noise levels through its unique compound and structure.
