Milltek Move Heralds Expansion
Performance exhaust manufacturer Milltek Sport has recently moved into a Logistics and Sales Centre at Pride Park, Derby. This move is the springboard for a new phase of expansion.
Chief Executive Phil Millington commented, “This hi-tech Centre is a key factor in our further expansion programme, not only in the UK but also worldwide, since we are now exporting to some 40 countries. Our technical and manufacturing base remains at Ilkeston, where we have a highly skilled and closely-knit team and Pride Park will perfectly complement this.”
The new Milltek Logistics and Sales Centre has the capacity to store up to 4,000 exhaust systems and has been specifically designed to accommodate both 20ft and 40ft containers for completely dry loading. It is strategically located close to the motorway network and with the easiest of access to Nottingham East Midlands Airport, the Pride Park premises will enable faster and more flexible customer service, both in the UK and overseas.
Continued Phil Millington, “There is no doubt that we will be able to offer a far more competitive service to our whole customer base as a result of this expansion.”
Craig Pearson of the Royal Bank of Scotland, who have financially assisted the project, said, “Milltek Sport is growing at a rapid rate and it was important for the company to take the time to find the appropriate and prestigious location for this strategic business initiative. Pride Park has been the location of choice for a number of firms over recent years and the new site provides the company with an excellent opportunity to continue its growth pattern.”
2006 has already seen a very encouraging trade communications exercise at Autosport International, the motor racing industry’s major trade show. The range of exhausts for virtually every performance car currently available deliver enhanced performance, matched by refinement and better driveability, says Milltek. Every product is totally engineered to build on the success of key marques including Audi, Volkswagen, SEAT, Skoda, Porsche and BMW, where uncompromised performance and proven longevity are demanded.
