Credential Automotive Formed Following TCS Acquisition
Credential Environmental Ltd has made another key acquisition, announcing the further integration of its tyre collection and reprocessing businesses into one division under the Credential Automotive banner.
Credential Environmental already owned the Automotive Waste Solutions (AWS) and Waste Tyre Solutions (WTS) recycling businesses, and has now acquired Wednesbury-based Tyre Collection Services (TCS) to complement its growing portfolio of automotive sector recycling businesses bringing the group’s turnover to around £16.5 million in 2006.
The businesses will operate alongside Credential’s tyre processing operations under the new Credential Automotive brand as the dedicated automotive sector division of the Credential Group. The company has also unveiled a new look Internet site www.credenv.com, logos and new marketing materials detailing the company’s expanding range of services.
Nick Wyatt, managing director of Credential Environmental Ltd explained the move: “This latest acquisition is another step towards our intention to become the UK’s leader in the management of automotive industry waste, and by bringing the businesses together under the Credential Automotive brand we will be better able to communicate the growing breadth and depth of service we can provide the industry.
The WTS, AWS and TCS businesses have long established track records in their specialisms, and in bringing them together with our other business assets we have gained enormous experience, national reach and great innovative processing capabilities.”
Although working more closely, and enjoying some integration, the businesses will continue to trade in the same way with its respective customers as they have in the past, although they are already offering new services and added capabilities.
Steve Patterson, divisional director of Credential Automotive added: “The waste sector, and particularly the automotive waste specialism has had to undergo huge change in recent years, and joining forces with complementary businesses makes very sound sense for our businesses and also their customers.
“With new legislation and wholesale changes to the way our industry deals with its waste, we need to be able to bring the best services, and most efficient collection and processing to our clients, and the formation of Credential Automotive and the investment we have from our parent company will ensure that we have the resources to move forward in these exciting times.”
Credential Environmental operates from a head office at Newton Aycliffe near Durham, whilst Credential Automotive continues to operate from its Durham, Breighton, Edmonton, and Wednesbury sites as well as a number of other depots around the country.
Credential Environmental also announced the launch of Credential Automotive’ s sister division – Credential Hazardous – that again comprises businesses that have been brought together with a specialism in hazardous waste management. Credential Hazardous operates from its Worcester and Hinckley sites.
Together, the Credential Automotive and Hazardous divisions now employ over 120 staff around seven sites throughout the UK.
