BFNAT Gets County Dollars to Help Plant Upgrade

(Akron/Tire Review) Wilson County, North Carolina, commissioners have approved a $364,324 economic incentive package for Bridgestone/Firestone North American Tire (BFNAT) on 6 March, funds earmarked to help the tyremaker expand its passenger/light truck tyre plant in that area.

The new package is in addition to one approved in February for $474,833, also for the plant’s upgrade. According to local news reports, BFNAT is “modernizing” the 32-year-old plant. The funds will come from the economic development line item of the 2005-06 county budget.
