Yuill & Dodds Picks Bandag

Yuill & Dodds is one of Scotland’s leading haulage specialists. Established in 1953, the company operates a fleet of more than 200 vehicles, ranging from long-haul artics and tipping trailers to off-road eight-wheel units.

Over the past year, Eurofleet Tyres & Services, the organisation incorporating Bandag’s European fleet initiatives, has worked with the Yuill & Dodds team to provide retreading and reporting systems.

The services include the Eurofleet breakdown network and a detailed reporting system that helps the company to forecast tyre costs, which can be viewed not only by vehicle type, but even by registration plate.
Yuill & Dodds’ preferred choices of retreaded tyre varies according to application and include WHL for the 8×4 hook loaders, BDY for the 6×4 tractor units and BZYW (E) for the Ejector trailers.

Managing director at the company is Brian Yuill, who says: “At the beginning of the contract we thought that Bandag was just a good tyre supplier, but we soon realised that with all the reporting systems, an independent breakdown network and a team of dedicated Bandag employees, they have turned from a vendor into an important resource. We can now use these systems to improve our fleet, lower our costs and concentrate on our core business.”
