The New Sava Perfecta
Sava is introducing a new range of summer tyres for cars and Multi Purpose Vehicles (MPVs). The Sava Perfecta range will be available in new popular sizes and is said to offer longevity, reliability and a competitive price tag. The main benefit of Sava Perfecta is greater mileage. Other benefits are shorter wet stopping distances, reduced risk of aquaplaning, better driver control and less noise.
Koos Nooi, Sava brand director Europe, Middle East and Africa, said: “The Sava Perfecta fulfils the requirements of possibly the largest consumer segment of the European tyre market because it is designed to meet the needs of the rational and safety conscious driver who drives a compact car or MPV. We have tested this tyre against competition, which it has outperformed. Sava Perfecta has met all parameters we set for it.”
According to the manufacturer, the Perfecta’s optimised four-rib tread design delivers a more even pressure distribution in the footprint, so the tyre wears evenly and lasts longer. Not only that, but the footprint has increased in size. Sava reports that this enhances longevity and also provides better grip.
In wet conditions, the two crucial areas of performance are wet braking and aquaplaning. Sava claims its latest offering produces “top results” in both. The tread also features new blocks, which use more biting edges, thus ensuring better grip and allowing shorter wet braking distances.
Three types of groove have also been incorporated in order to minimise aquaplaning:
·Wide longitudinal grooves that allow the water to follow its natural path
·Radial grooves that enhance the efficient water evacuation from the shoulders
·Newly designed ‘boomerang’ grooves that contain the water accumulated under the tyre footprint.
In addition to wet performance updates, the new Sava perfecta is engineered to provide better handling characteristics to improve driver control. “The entire tyre construction of the Perfecta is carefully developed to maximise carcass rigidity, which in balance with the new tyre contour provides better handling characteristics,” according to company representatives. A stiffer tread pattern results from specially designed block bridges with sloping connectors. These provide very stable tyre-to-road contact even during heavy cornering. Big shoulder blocks increase the shoulder stiffness of the tyre for enhanced cornering power, particularly during heavier handling.
The new Sava Perfecta is available in 21 different sizes, covering the most popular cars and MPVs. Along with 14 sizes that are already available in other designs, Perfecta covers more than 96 per cent of the standard summer segment volume potential in the European market.
Sava Tires is based in Slovenia and employs more than 1,400 people. The company sells mainly passenger car, light truck and truck tyres and is an “integral” part of the Goodyear Dunlop.
