RMA Honours Plants for Safety Improvements
(Akron/Tire Review) Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA) honored 63 tyre and rubber manufacturing facilities improving their worker health and safety. RMA’s Safety and Health Improvement Program (SHIP) Awards were given at RMA’s annual meeting, held 25-27 February.
Two categories of awards were given for workplace safety improvements, which are measured by the incidence rate for lost workday cases. “Excellence” awards are for facilities that achieve an incidence rate that is 75 per cent better than the average achieved by plants that provided data to RMA.
“Improvement” awards are for plants achieving a 10 per cent improvement in incidence rate reductions compared to the RMA average incidence rate.
