Hangzhou Yokohama Tire Secures ISO 14001
Yokohama’s Hangzhou Yokohama Tire Co. Ltd. Chinese subsidiary has secured ISO 14001 certification. The company achieved the standard in January, Yokohama reported. Established in December 2001 and financed by Yokohama Rubber (90 per cent) and YHI Holdings Pte, Ltd (10 per cent), Hangzhou Yokohama Tire manufactures and sells radial tyres for passenger cars.
Yokohama Rubber seeks ISO 14001 certification for each of its Group companies in Japan and overseas, as well as for the parent plants. The Mishima, Mie, Shinshiro, Ibaraki and Onomichi plants, and the Hiratsuka factory – the main production site – had all qualified by July 1999. The qualification of Hangzhou Yokohama Tire brings the total number of domestic and overseas operations certified under ISO 14001 to 15.
