Goodyear Promotes Two in Technical Group
(Akron/Tire Review) Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. has promoted William Hopkins and Joseph Zekoski to new positions in its technical group. Hopkins, formerly vice president global product marketing and technology planning, was named to the newly created position of vice president of technology and strategic initiatives. He will be responsible for global strategic initiatives, tyre engineering, materials, performance prediction and global vehicle systems.
Zekoski was named general director of Goodyear’s Luxembourg Technical Center, replacing Jean Bergh who retired after 37 years with the tyremaker. Zekoski was previously director of Goodyear’s North American Tire retread business.
Both men will report to Joseph Gingo, executive vice president of quality systems and chief technical officer, and Zekoski will also report to Arthur de Bok, president of Goodyear’s European Union unit.
