Goodyear Appoints Farm and Earthmover Specialist
Goodyear Dunlop Tyres UK Ltd has announced the appointment of Stuart Starrs as Farm and Earthmover Tyre Specialist for Scotland. Stuart brings 20 years farm experience to the team reporting directly to Andy Morris, director of Off-The-Road tyres and will focus on developing contacts throughout Scotland co-ordinating promotions and sales as well as resolving any technical queries that may arise.
He joins the company from Coventry-based tractor manufacturer AGCO, manufacturers of Massey Ferguson, Fendt and Challenger tractors for the European market. Here Stuart was area sales manager for England selling tractors to dealers throughout the territory as well as conducting field demonstrations and providing technical support.
Prior to that role Stuart was an instructor for AGCO, training mechanics and installing equipment throughout Europe. He also worked for Case IH in Uzbekistan helping install combine harvesters and tractors into the country’s farming practices. His first job was as a tractor driver on a mixed arable farm in Clackmannan owned by the late William DJ McLaren – regarded as one of the best and most professional farmers in the area at the time.
“I really am looking forward to the challenge at Goodyear Dunlop,” explains Stuart. “Because of my strong farming and technical background, I feel I can bring a lot to the team. I have some excellent contacts in Scotland and am confident I can bring a fresh approach to the job and help drive forward the farm tyre business in Scotland.”
