The UK’s First Track-Day Show
The Trackdays.com Show – the first-ever trackday-focussed event of its kind in the UK – gets the green flag on Sunday 30 April 2006 at Rockingham Motor Speedway, Northants. Organiser Ian Raybould, of Trackdays.com, said: “There are car shows and there are motorsport shows, but this one is totally focussed on trackdays, trackday and performance products and driving experiences.
“It will cater for people who want to find out more about trackdays as much as it will for experienced track-users. The common factor is that the visitors to the event are proven spenders who do or want to spend on enhancing their car, their driving experiences or their driving ability.
“There will be static stands, but, crucially, there will be live action in which visitors get to try their hand at driving a range of cars on track under the guidance of qualified instructors.
“But perhaps the most crucial aspect is that there are far more potential trackday enthusiasts than racers – and that means more potential income for the automotive industry from what is becoming a fast-growing consumer market.”
The static exhibitors will include performance, modifying and tuning specialists, plus a wide range of automotive trade suppliers and manufacturers.
The on track action will include opportunities for visitors to drive a BMW M3, Lotus Elise or MINI Cooper S, plus demos and displays by manufacturers and tuners. High-speed passenger rides will be also be on offer.
