Yokohama Announces Two New Chinese Joint Ventures

Yokohama has announced that it has entered into two new joint venture operations in China. Shandong Yokohama Rubber Industrial Products Co, Ltd, will produce and sell conveyor belts, and Yokohama Tire Sales (Shanghai) Co, Ltd, will sell tyres, both are set to be established in early 2006.

On 14 November 2005 Yokohama Rubber (China) Co, Ltd, established a new company to control its tyre and multiple-business (MB) operations in China. According to the Japanese tyre-maker the new company will cope with needs arising from its business expansion in China.

Yokohama Rubber already runs three companies in China: Hangzhou Yokohama Tire Co, Ltd, producing and selling tyres for passenger cars; Yokohama Hamatite (Hangzhou) Co., Ltd., producing and selling sealant for passenger cars; and Yokohama Hoses & Coupling (Hangzhou) Co., Ltd., assembling and selling high-pressure hoses. These three companies and others established in the future will be held under the umbrella of the new holding company.
