Hi-Q Leads in RunOnFlat Training
Hi-Q is leading the way on RunOnFlat tyre technology thanks to an intensive training programme for its fitters. A total of 131 nationwide stores have been put through a special Goodyear RunOnFlat training programme.
Stores that offer the specialist tyres have undergone intensive training in how to fit the tyres properly as well as, when appropriate, how to repair the tyres. Hi-Q says its commitment to professional training comes at a time when warnings are being given about the safety of run-flat tyres being repaired by untrained and unqualified personnel. Part of Hi-Q’s training programme is dedicated to the repair of the tyres, ensuring that fitters know when it is appropriate to repair a tyre and when it’s not.
Nikki McCluney, Hi-Q’s marketing manager, said the company takes the training of its fitters extremely seriously. “As one of the UK’s leading high street networks, we aim to respond to the continual advancements made in automotive technology. RunOnFlat technology is driving tyre development forward and Hi-Q is proud to offer drivers this extra service. However, with new technology, comes the need for professional training and this is where Hi-Q, as a national operator, is leading the way.”
RunOnFlat tyres are currently fitted as standard to a number of models from the Mini Cooper to the Ferrari F430 and the latest BMW 1 series.
