Hankook Announces Autosport International Plans
Hankook is set to unveil a raft of motorsport plans at Autosport International in January, building on its successful rallying programme this year. Motorsport manager Mike Patterson said the company, which has its UK headquarters in Daventry, is currently finalising plans to support both race and rally programmes for 2006.
“2005 was an extremely important year for us and our plans to play a key role in the UK motorsport arena,” said Patterson. “We began the year with a substantial presence at Autosport International and look forward to being back at the NEC in January.”
In 2005 Hankook Motorsports was the main sponsor for the hugely successful 205 Challenge and supported three drivers in Wales Rally GB.
The 205 Challenge is designed to be one of the most affordable ways to rally in the UK and to demonstrate its breadth of tyre expertise the company moved onto the world stage by supporting Dorian Rees, Andy Gwynne and Philip McVay on the recent Wales Rally GB.
“We were delighted with the exposure we received from these ventures and the launch in September of a dedicated motorsport tyre service – Warwick-based Silverline Motorsport – for race and rally cars means that we are looking to play an even more prominent role in UK motorsport for 2006.”
Competitors can now deal directly with Silverline Motorsport for all their competition tyre requirements and tyres for club events.
Hankook Motorsports plans are set to be announced at Autosport International which runs from 12 – 15 January at the NEC, Birmingham.
