Good News for Indian Car Makers
(India/Rubber Asia) A customer satisfaction study conducted in 21 Indian cities has found a progressive reduction in car ownership cycle time (OCT) from an average of 61 months in 2002 to 53 months in 2005. However, the decline in OCT applied more to small and mid-size car models.
The study conducted by TNS Automotive, a leading market information provider and part of the global TNS Group, says the shortened OCT could bring the owners for repeat purchase of “which is visible in the growing extent of additional or replacement purchase.”
It found the number of multi-car households growing from 51 per cent in 2002 to 65 per cent in 2005.
