Senior Developer Appointed at Cam Systems
Cam Systems has appointed a new Senior Developer to join its management team to strengthen both its product development capability and assist with the career progression of its in house team of software developers.
Karyn Boots joins the company’s Gloucestershire head office from Atkins Management Consultants, a leading provider of technology-based consultancy and support services to major clients in the public and private sectors. As an IT Consultant with the £1 billion turnover company, Karyn worked with organisations including the Welsh Assembly, Swindon Borough Council and the Welsh Development Agency.
Her new role with Cam Systems will see her working with development director Paul Crockett and taking day-to-day management of the company’s Development team. This will involve responsibility for conception, project management, delivery, training and maintenance of new and existing software programs and products for customers in the retail and wholesale sectors of the tyre industry.
Managing director Mike Allen said that Karyn’s appointment would bring valuable new skills and experience to the company: “Karyn is a highly qualified programmer, developer and trainer who brings new disciplines and best practice to the Cam Systems team from her experience working with high profile corporate clients. She will have a vital role to play as we continue to develop the business to meet the fast-evolving IT needs of our customers.”
Commenting on her appointment Karyn, a qualified Prince 2 Project Management Practitioner with a BSc (Hons) in Information Technology, said that she relished the career opportunities offered by her new position: “I’ve enjoyed the challenges and exposure to major projects that I’ve gained through six years working in IT consultancy and am now ready to apply my skills and experience in a new environment at Cam Systems. I’m looking forward to working with the Development team at Cam and to providing customers with practical IT solutions that will help drive their businesses forward.”
Karyn’s role will include a strong project management and client training remit and will also involve her taking responsibility for the internal training and career development of staff in Cam’s Development team.
