Hi-Q Partners with Salford City Council
Hi-Q’s fleet operation has continued to forge links with local authorities by adding Salford City Council to those councils already involved with its North West based Local Authority Purchasing Partnership (LAPP).
The contract will see Hi-Q provide all tyres and tyre servicing to the entire Salford City Council fleet, which comprises over 300 vehicles ranging from large tippers to grass mowers.
Terry Dixie, Salford City Council transport manager is confident of the level of service the council will receive from Hi-Q having previously worked for Manchester City Council as Maintenance Service Manager where Hi-Q has held the fleet service contract for over four years.
“I know from my experience at Manchester that Hi-Q provide a first rate service. During my time there, the service response times were spot on and our fleet tyre costs came down. Although it is early days here at Salford I can say with confidence that that all the things Hi-Q said they were going to achieve they have done and I am looking forward to another first rate level of service for Salford City Council,” explained Mr Dixie.
David Glover, Regional Fleet manager for Hi-Q believes the addition of Salford City Council is a reflection of the quality of work Hi-Q has been carrying out in the North West for some considerable time.
“Being awarded preferred supplier status to the LAPP was partly due to close working relationship we have developed with Greater Manchester Police over a number of years. The ten authorities now involved in the LAPP recognise Hi-Q can provide them with a first rate service for all their fleet needs.
“To add such another high profile authority as Salford City Council, reflects the level of service we are able to provide and the confidence authorities have in Hi-Q to be able to meet their wide ranging needs,” commented Mr. Glover.
The other authorities involved in the Hi-Q LAPP are Stockport, Oldham, Tameside, Trafford, Bury, Bolton, Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue and Greater Manchester Police.
Naithan Keeping, Hi-Q’s Fleet Director, said the contract was another example of Hi-Q’s strengthening relationships with local authorities across the country:
“With a nationwide network of over 450 stores, Hi-Q has the strength in depth to offer a comprehensive service to authorities that have a multi faceted operation. We are pleased to be adding an authority such as Salford City Council to our list of satisfied customers.”
Hi-Q has been the sole supplier of fleet tyre services to Salford City Council since winning the contract in June this year.
