Hankook Launches Numerous Tyres at SEMA
(Akron/Tire Review) Hankook Tire America Corp unveiled a host of innovative tyre products and its new model at the SEMA Show last week.
Among the new tyres on display was the Dynapro MT RT03, the latest addition to Hankook’s off-road and light truck tyre line. The Dynapro MT RT03 features a V-shaped center block to firmly grip the road surface for added traction and better handling, as well as a side protection block that protects against the shock of foreign objects and pothole damage while improving traction in mud and soft terrain. The Dynapro MT RT03 will be available in sizes ranging from 15 to 22 inches.
Also on display at the Hankook booth was the new Ventus AS RH07 all-season light truck/SUV tyre, designed for direct OE replacement and for plus-sizing applications. Designed for comfort, low noise and all-season traction, the Ventus AS RH07 has a UTQG of 460AA, and comes in 17, 18, 20 and 22 inches. The tyre also features Hankook Tire’s Road Hazard Warranty.
Hankook also unveiled two new winter tyres. The Winter i*Pike W409 is optimized for winter performance, and features a six-row stud pin arrangement, wide tread width and a broad profile for added stability on even the most extreme road surfaces, Hankook said. The Winter i*Pike W409 also provides exceptional braking on snow and ice as well as improved wear, traction and performance on icy surfaces as a result of a 17 per cent wider tread contact, the tyremaker said.
The new Dynapro i*Pike W411 studded winter SUV tyre utilises a deep block tread design, complemented by computer-designed stud arrangement. The result is a winter radial that cuts through snow, slush and ice with ease, allowing for enhanced driver control, comfort, and better traction, Hankook said.
Rounding out the new tyres Hankook released at SEMA is the Optimo H727, a premium all-season tyre. Designed for comfort, low noise, all-season traction and extra-long tread life, the Optimo H727 has a UTQG of 700AB and features a custom-blended rubber compound for better handling, performance and longer tread life.
Two new medium truck tyres will also be unveiled at SEMA. The Radial AL07 long haul steer tyre features state of the art casing technology to prolong the life of the tyre, whether it’s new or a retread, Hankook said. An innovative decoupling groove with multiple miniature sipes in groove walls promotes even treadwear, protects against premature tire wear, extending the life of the tire regardless of road conditions.
Hankook’s new Radial AH11 medium distance all-position tyre fights uneven wear on the rib edges and heat build-up using multiple sipes. The tread design features stepped ribs and large shoulders for lateral stability and handling, four wide grooves for dry/wet traction, and extra deep and wide tread with a high scrub compound for long tread life, Hankook said.
