Brityrex International – Space Selling Quickly
Brityrex International 2007, the dedicated exhibition for the tyre and associated industries, has already sold 25 per cent of the show’s exhibition area. While tyres have traditionally been the mainstay of Brityrex, the organisers ECI International are noticing a growing trend towards diversification among exhibitors. Says managing director Paul Farrant: “Our advance bookings for the 2007 event show great interest from equipment manufacturers – and not just tyre changers and balancers, but sophisticated testing and diagnostic equipment, as well as new areas such as air-conditioning servicing.”
This, he believes, is indicative of a changing outlook among many tyre dealers, garages and fast-fits, who are seeking new profit opportunities. “While tyres remain their core business, an increasing number of retailers are looking to add value by exploring new avenues,” explains Farrant. Tyre retailers along with equities and franchised car dealerships are diversifying their operations to increase their market share of added value products/services to the end user markets.
Good news then for the equipment suppliers, who look set to make up a significant number of exhibitors for the 2007 show. Brityrex International is a cost-effective way of meeting potential tyre trade customers, as the 2005 event proved: Hofmann Megaplan’s James Boon described it as “the best I have ever attended in 16 years of doing exhibitions” and he was one of many who described the show as a great place to do serious business.
Brityrex International 2005 proved that there is a place for a dedicated, trade-only UK exhibition and the early interest seems to indicate that the 2007 event promises to be the showcase for a greater range of products than ever before, reflecting the widening scope of products and services being offered by the tyre trade.
Brityrex International will be held at the G-MEX Exhibition Centre, Manchester, from 1-3 May 2007.
